TikTok keeps their set of rules quite hush hush from the public as it is understandably their strategic USP unique selling point. One of the set of rules’s metrics that has been hypothesised online is ‘Collaborative Filtering’. This is almost probably the most app’s ways to populate and recommend videos on the users ‘For You’ page, aka the house page. Collaborative Filtering works by finding users who’ve followed and liked similar things to you, then recommending videos and other “TikTokers” in response to what they’ve followed or liked. Additionally, the app populates videos according to your geolocation, that is now very common among many apps.
