All of those adjustments aren’t necessarily because Perdue suddenly cares more about its birds. They make economic sense. If you’re not giving birds medications, and they are living in cooped up conditions, you’ll have numerous sick birds that may’t be sold. Many of the changes are being driven by agencies that Perdue supplies its chook to, corporations which are feeling the warmth from their very own clients and are committed to buying chickens from manufacturers who can safely say their chickens are ideal better lives. Whatever the explanation, it’s great to see some changes being introduced.
