The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing AiC honors 9th 12th grade scholars who self determine as women, genderqueer, or non binary for their computing associated achievements and pursuits, and encourages them to pursue their passions. Award recipients are specific in response to their aptitude and aspirations in generation and computing, as confirmed by their computing event, computing associated actions, management experience, tenacity in the face of limitations to access, and plans for post secondary education. Since 2007, more than 17,000 scholars have got an Award for AiC. The multi tiered award structure contains Winner, Honorable Mention, Rising Star, and Certificate of Distinction designations at National and Regional Affiliate levels, serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U. S.
Virgin Islands, Guam, all U. S. abroad army bases, and Canada. Regional Affiliate Award programs are hosted in 79 destinations nationwide by NCWIT Alliance member corporations—a magnificent, countrywide community of universities, businesses, non revenue, and government groups working to augment the have an impact on and meaningful participation of ladies and girls from every community.
