MOHAI is treasured in the community and respected nationally as a brilliant resource where historical past conjures up us to be our best, personally and collectively. By accumulating and retaining artifacts and memories of our distinct history, MOHAI highlights our neighborhood tradition of innovation and mind’s eye. Through compelling displays, scholarship, schooling, public programs, and group engagement, MOHAI bridges the past, latest, and future. MOHAI is a spot and a group of people with histories of successes and failures that: bind us collectively; amuse, disturb, and inspire us; inform and guide us; and deepen our connection with our heritage. For more than 60 years, MOHAI has been dedicated to enriching lives by retaining, sharing, and coaching the distinct history of Seattle, the Puget Sound region and the nation.
With a collection of nearly 4 million artifacts, snap shots, oral histories and archival items, and an expansive agenda of exhibits and courses, MOHAI is the region’s premier historical past center. MOHAI operates a dramatic and award winning museum in Lake Union Park in Seattle’s vivid South Lake Union region, and a Resource Center in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. MOHAI also hosts the Bezos Center for Innovation, concentrating on the history and way forward for innovation in the Puget Sound region.
