Fourth of July, 2022 Fireworks and Festivities for Westchester County NY
Here are the best places to view the 4th of July fireworks in Westchester County, NY. Compared to most years, the choices for fireworks and festivities are limited, but compared to last year, they are abundant. And, it sounds like the weather will be perfect this year – not too hot, not too humid.
Please note that many fireworks have been cancelled this year as fireworks are in short supply (as well as the risk for fires). In addition, these events require a lot of planning and most decisions were made in January/February before most towns could predict safety measures, so many took the more conservative route.
I’m glad that New York is opening up, and it’s a great time to rest, relax and celebrate outdoors with friends and family. If you choose to have a small and relaxed BBQ and gathering, that’s awesome. There are so many fireworks that there’s a good chance that you can see them from the comfort of your backyard or balcony. Or, you can venture out to see the official fireworks.
Below are the Independence Day/Fourth of July fireworks for Westchester, NY. Please note that there are fireworks and festivities planned for many days, and I’ve ordered these in chronological order to make your planning easier. There are a few events that are offered more than once, so I repeated those to make your calendar planning easier.

July 4th Fireworks Cruises 2022 – These are in NYC (Manhattan)
Many of these cruises depart from NYC and if you plan on doing a cruise, plan ahead as you need to purchase tickets and many places will get sold out. All listed cruises are on July 4th.
QUICK NOTE ON JULY 4TH CRUISES.
A boat cruise provides AMAZING views of the City as you can see the water and the NYC skyline illuminated. In particular, the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks is amazing. But, one of the extra cool things about the cruises is that you’ll see many fireworks all along the rivers and you’ll have an unobstructed view up and down the rivers. Plus, you won’t have to battle the insane city crowds.
For this reason, the cruises are not cheap. Many run $300+ per person. Those that are under $200 are no frills and have cash bars and buffets. (You may want to eat before to reduce some of your costs). It’s ideal to call ahead and confirm the details so you know what you’re paying for.
If you’re bringing kids along, make sure kids are allowed. And, generally shorter cruises are better (for obvious reasons).
Be sure to check out boarding and departing times. Once the cruise has sailed, it’s not coming back. Allow enough time for parking, too (and potential road closures).
Departs from Pier 83 at 42nd Street and the Hudson River (NYC)
$179 per person; $259 for a premium ticket
This cruise will go down the Hudson River to the tip of Manhattan with great views of the Statue of Liberty and One World Trade Center. The Macy’s fireworks display will last 30 minutes (probably the longest show in the region).

Tickets sell out, so plan ahead.
