Elon Musk has been touting the fact that his cyber web can’t be cut off the style landlines and traditional cable can be. It took place accidentally in 2011 when a Georgian woman cut during the only cable providing information superhighway to Armenia. Mauritania lost its web connection in 2018 when a submarine unintentionally cut their undersea cable connection to anything else of the realm. Furthermore, internet has been shut off repeatedly by a variety of regimes seeking to prevent their citizens from learning about the external world. Gabon disconnected information superhighway connectivity in 2016 after their president was reelected.
Bangladesh tried to do a similar in 2015. Multiple international locations tried to bring to a halt web access during the Arab Spring.
