As we know, Google uses several algorithms to rank a website in search results. Three of them are Google Panda, Google Penguin, and Google Hummingbird which is almost every year it is always updated.

We will not discuss the causes of the Google Panda penalty because the cause is clear: the quality of the site and content. So what is the quality site like what? Quality for visitors or Google?

Well, Google has released 23 lists of questions regarding site criteria and quality content which unfortunately actually produces an ambiguous answer a.k.a is not specific.

  • Would You Trust The Information Presented in this Article?

Concerning expertise, authoritivity, and trustworthiness (e-A-T). For example, for content relating to medical or medical advice, it must be written by the doctor (or by the co-writer).

  • Is this Article Written by An Expert or Enthusiast WHO Knows the Topic Well, or is it More Shallow?

Is the site or content concerned written by someone who understands the topic being discussed? Still ambiguous? Follow what Einstein said, “if you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” The author who understands the topic discussed is usually able to explain it simply.

  • Does The Site Have Duplicate, Overlapping, OR Redundant Articles On The Same OR Similar Topics With Slightly Different Keyword Variations?

Does the site often discuss the same topic with different keywords? That is, what is discussed is that alone, only the keywords are different.

  • Would You Be Comfortable Giving Your Credit Card Information on this site?

This is related to trust.

  • Does this article has spelling, stylistic, or factual errors?

Logically, if you are a webmaster (web owner) or blogger, you certainly fill it with various content (text, images, videos, etc.).

To be able to fill the content with text or writing, you certainly have to understand the basic technique first, right? Likewise, with company sites, at least a company can hire a real author.


So if anyone says to make and manage your website doesn’t have to understand the basic techniques of writing, you should think again.

  • Are The Topics Driven by Genuine Interests of Readers of the Site, OR Does the Site Generate Content by Attempting to Guess What Might Rank Well in Search Engines?

  • Does The Article Provide Original Content OR Information, Original Reporting, Original Research, Or Original Analysis?

Compare with similar content on other pages or sites, which are more useful?

  • How much Quality Control Is Done On Content?

Each site has its own QC policy, but do you believe that the site and content are YBS. does it have met quality standards? At least, general quality standards.

  • Would You Recognize this Site As An Authoritative Source When Mentioned By Name?

  • Does this Article Provide a Complete OR Comprehensive Description of the Topic?

What is the content on the site? Discussed completely, completely, and descriptive?
